Updated Family Photographs: Strawbridge Lake Park

In 2009 (15 years ago!!) I first photographed this FANTASTIC family! During that first portrait session, I got to know what a kind and joyful family they were. From climbing trees and handstands to skipping through the park, we had SO much fun!! I didn’t have kids at that time but I knew then that when I did, I’d want my family to be as fun-loving as theirs was.

Over the years since we first met,I have been honored and delighted to be the photographer at all 3 of their children’s bar and bat mitzvah celebrations. As expected, I also had a great time at those. This family knows how to party!!

This past fall, Briya, the oldest daughter, contacted me about wanting to surprise their mom for her birthday with photographs. I was delighted!! I dug out the old photographs from 2009 and we decided that returning to the original location (Strawbridge Lake Park in Moorestown, NJ) would be ideal. The plan was for just the “kids” (now obviously adults!) to be there. Imagine my delight when Nadine & Doug (the parents) were also there when I arrived. It turns out that they couldn’t keep it a secret and decided to have their parents join in the photographs as well. Yay! They also brought their adorable dog, Bernie, with them which made the day even better!

Yet again, we had an incredible and fun afternoon! It was so wonderful to catch up with them and hear all about the incredible accomplishments and things going on in their lives.

Here’s a selfie pic that they sent me from the end of the portrait session that day. It makes me so happy.

While we didn’t try to exactly match any of the photographs we did do some casual re-creations that I’m excited to share with you. I loved putting these photos side by side and seeing how this family has grown. Nadine & Doug have clearly poured their heart and soul into every part of this beautiful family and it shows. They have thrived. As my kids are now approximately the ages that theirs were in 2009, they continue to inspire me!

Someone needs to dig out the poor teddy bear’s head! It’s sinking!
